Weekly Horoscope: July 29 to August 4, 2024

Time to kick free! It’s time to paddle away from any confining circumstances or controlling people and dive into greater mental or emotional freedom

Monday and Tuesday can be both productive and inspired. The Moon is in stable Taurus making alliances with inventive Uranus and inspired Neptune. Around dinner time, though, she changes signs for communicative and mentally active Gemini. The pace quickens, a trend that continues into Tuesday. We may be bursting with brilliant ideas, but keep in mind that Mercury will soon go retrograde. So perhaps file them away to be acted on next month.

On Wednesday, July 31, Luna continues to help us take a walk on the light side. Pleasant aspects to Venus in Leo favour taking it easy or enjoying a show or social event. We’re able to keep a fast pace at work, too, and multitask. Late evening, though, a lunar square to Neptune creates some mental confusion that is not conducive to clear communication or effective decisions.

The Moon comes home to Cancer on Thursday, shifting our focus to nesting and family. After making a productive aspect to communicator Mercury, she is free to drive and set her own agenda.  As well, Mars makes nice with the lunar nodes, helping us to align our actions with higher purpose for greatest emotional fulfilment.

A sense of anticipation builds throughout the week, culminating on Friday when love goddess Venus in Leo squares off with freedom-at-all-costs Uranus in Taurus. Our need for romance and attention may conflict with someone’s need for autonomy and excitement—or vice versa. People may be acting erratically or making sudden breaks. The best advice you can give them (and yourself) is to take some space. Excellent safety valve: Do something creative and out of character; artistic juices are at floodtide. The saving grace? Both signs are big on integrity, so under this aspect being truthful and authentic is essential.  And might take a relationship to a better level.

Sunday’s New Moon at 7:13 am EDT puts fun and … stage centre. In glamorous Leo, it begins a new 28-day cycle when it comes to shining our light and finding our heart’s desire. This sign is all about showing us how recreation can be a re-creation, that it’s time to take more time for activities that refresh our physical and mental sides. It’s also primetime for expanding our social circle as a favourable aspect to Mars in friendly Gemini helps us to take the initiative. And Jupiter is also onside, upping the fun factor and sense of adventure.

Late evening, Venus changes signs, from showy, brash Leo to quiet Virgo. Until August 29, the planet of love, beauty, and creativity helps us to be inspired by refined simplicity. This prompts us to approach artistic and pleasurable pursuits and relationships in a more down-to-earth way. And to be cautious about where we put our heart. This is a good time to make our homes both beautiful and functional. And use the sign’s health focus to improve our self-care routines. Venus in Virgo can be a bit critical sometimes, so perhaps think before you issue judgment. As well, aesthetics are subjective, so we all have our own definition of what is beautiful. Time out for solitude is restorative now.
